According to New Straits Times, the baby was discovered shortly after 6am by a local resident preparing to leave for work.

According to Beaufort district police chief Superintendent Wong Leong Meng, authorities received a call at 5.40am after a witness spotted an individual on a white motorcycle lingering outside the house
While the motorbike's registration number was unclear, it reportedly began with the letter 'V'.
The rider left shortly before the box was discovered.
"Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at first," said Wong. "It wasn't until the witness opened the box that they realised a baby had been left behind."

The child was taken to the Paediatric Ward at Beaufort Hospital for further examination
Police have requested a blood sample for potential paternity testing as part of ongoing investigations.
Authorities are now working to locate the baby's mother. The case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code, which pertains to the abandonment of a child under 12.
While the baby is now in safe hands, the circumstances surrounding her abandonment raise painful questions — and underline the quiet desperation some parents face.
