Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has apologised after his driver occasionally ran red lights to arrive on time at official functions
According to the New Straits Times, Aminuddin explained that he operates on a tight schedule, attending multiple programmes each day, which often creates time constraints.
"I admit that sometimes we had to run the red light because we needed to reach the venue quickly, as there were several official events planned in a day.
"You can check my Facebook page to see how many programmes I attend in a day," he told reporters yesterday.

Aminuddin was responding to a viral social media post showing his official vehicle running a red traffic light, with the caption: "Whose car is this that they feel so invulnerable that they can run a traffic light and blare a police siren?"
He explained that a police officer was in the vehicle at the time and that his office had written to the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary approval.
"We had to run the red light, but in a careful manner and with proper signals, because we needed to reach the location quickly.
"I apologise. If not, I would not dare to run the red light. Usually, state leaders are given some leeway for certain matters," he said.
