Najib Tells Cheering Crowd At Tesco: I’m A Thief Of The People’s Hearts

Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has responded to Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali's remarks that he is a "pencuriku" rather than a "bossku"

"I am a thief of people's hearts," he told a crowd at a Tesco in Semenyih on 13 February.

A live video of Najib arriving to loud cheers and chants of 'Bossku', 'Malu apa', and 'Hidup' was posted to his official Facebook page.

A large crowd of people, some of which wore colourful 'Bossku' T-shirts, followed him around the grocery store asking for selfies.

In his caption for the video, the former premier wrote that, "I was going around in Kuala Lumpur when I suddenly felt thirsty"

"Do I need a permit to buy water?" he added.

In another Facebook post, Najib joked that, "I went to Tesco Semenyih to buy kitchen supplies. Why are all these people following me?"

According to a netizen's tweet, Najib's trip to Tesco was pre-planned as invitations were sent out several hours earlier for a "chill session with Bossku" at 8pm

Forgot that this invitation was sent to me at 5.37pm – about 3 hours before he shared his Facebook live. So it wasn't exactly a random trip to Tesco to buy water and kitchen supplies as captioned.
