Missing Hiker Found Dead Near Gunung Liang Summit In Perak

A man who went missing while hiking at Gunung Liang in Tanjung Malim three days ago was tragically found dead on Thursday, 16 October
According to Harian Metro, Perak Fire and Rescue Department Acting Assistant Director of Operations, Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah, confirmed that the victim, 34-year-old Mustaqqeem Mansoor from Sungai Petani, Kedah, was found around 3.30pm near the summit of Gunung Liang Barat.
"The search team applied the LOST (Lost Person Behaviour) strategy and traced the hiking route up to the last known location where the victim was believed to have gone missing," said Shazlean.
The search and rescue (SAR) operation involved 22 personnel from multiple agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police, Civil Defence Force (APM), Perak State Forestry Department, Slim Village Volunteer Rescue Team (PBS), and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).

According to reports, Mustaqqeem and 10 friends began their hike from Bukit Fraser, Pahang, on 10 October and were scheduled to descend via Gunung Liang
He was last seen at 10.30pm on 14 October near the Gunung Liang Barat summit, reportedly suffering from leg pain and lagging behind the group.
A fire department helicopter was deployed at 9am today, 17 October, to retrieve the victim's body.
