The deep-sea search for the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 is set to restart on 30 December

The Transport Ministry confirmed that Ocean Infinity will launch a fresh 55-day operation, which will be conducted in phases.

This renewed effort will focus on a targeted high-probability zone in the southern Indian Ocean, in line with the service agreement signed between the government and the exploration firm on 25 March.

This new operation follows an earlier attempt that was cut short

In February, reports placed Ocean Infinity's vessel, the Armada 7806, in the search zone approximately 1,931km off the coast of Perth.

However, just days after the official agreement was signed in March, the mission was paused. Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed on 3 April that operations were suspended due to adverse weather conditions, with the plan to restart towards the end of the year now coming to fruition.

The government reiterated that this persistence underscores its commitment to providing closure for the families of the victims.
