METMalaysia Issues Danger-Level Rain Warning For 4 States As Nearly 20,000 Displaced

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) has issued a danger-level continuous rain warning for Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu, effective until 26 November
According to a statement at midnight today, 25 November, the department said the affected areas are:
– Perlis
– Kedah: Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Sik
– Kelantan: Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh
– Terengganu: Besut

The affected areas are:
– Kedah: Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim, Bandar Baharu
– Penang
– Perak: Kerian, Larut, Matang dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak
– Kelantan: Jeli, Kuala Krai, Gua Musang
– Terengganu: Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, Kemaman
Residents in parts of Perak (Kampar, Batang Padang, Muallim) and Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Jerantut, Kuantan) have also been advised to remain alert.

The number of flood evacuees nationwide have continued to rise, with Kelantan being the worst hit
According to the New Straits Times, as of 6am today, the total number of evacuees nationwide has reached 19,422, with significant increases in Kelantan, Perlis, and Perak due to ongoing heavy rainfall across northern and east coast states.
The National Disaster Command Centre reports that 112 temporary relief centres are currently operating across 22 districts in eight states, sheltering 6,554 families.
No fatalities have been reported so far.
