The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) stated that the scorching heat in Malaysia is now at Alert Level 1

METMalaysia has issued a warning, via a Facebook statement yesterday, 2 June, identifying three states as being at risk of hot weather conditions.

The agency specifically listed Bandar Baharu in Kedah; Larut, Matang, Kuala Kangsar, and Perak Tengah in Perak; and Machang and Kuala Krai in Kelantan, as facing elevated temperatures.

Meanwhile, Sabah and Sarawak are reportedly recording daily temperatures below 35°C.

The statement further defined an "Alert Level" as a maximum daily temperature ranging between 35°C and 37°C for at least three consecutive days

The public is advised to take precautionary measures to avoid adverse health effects stemming from the prolonged hot weather. These measures include refraining from strenuous physical activities under the scorching sun, ensuring adequate water intake, and staying in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
