Media Prima Bhd Group Managing Director Mohd Rafiq Mat Razali has been conferred the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which carries the title Datuk
He received the state award yesterday, 24 August, in conjunction with the 76th birthday celebrations of Melaka's Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Mohd Ali Rustam, at Seri Negeri in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
Rafiq, who has served as managing director since October 2021, has a career spanning media, technology, and telecommunications, with a strong track record in digital transformation, strategic leadership, and operational excellence.
He first joined the group in 2016 as CEO of REV Media Group, where he spearheaded the acquisition of key digital assets that significantly expanded Media Prima's digital footprint
A graduate in Actuarial Science from The Pennsylvania State University, he later completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Beyond his corporate roles, Rafiq has been active in industry development.
In 2024, he was appointed Chairman of the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF) and was reappointed for a second term this year.
He also mentors high-impact entrepreneurs through Endeavor Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Chinese actress Fan Bingbing was also conferred a Datukship at the investiture
She received the honorary title in recognition of her role in promoting Melaka as a global tourism destination.
"I also hope to bring more good news for Melaka," she told reporters briefly at Seri Negeri after she was conferred the award.
