Malaysians still love listening to the radio, and the latest numbers from Media Prima Audio (MPA) prove it
Home to some of the nation's most beloved stations including Fly FM, Hot FM, and Eight WuXian, MPA has announced that its network now reaches 6.1 million weekly listeners across Malaysia.

At the head of the pack is Hot FM, which retains its status as Malaysia's top radio station
The station recorded 4.3 million weekly listeners and 2.6 billion video views across digital platforms, solidifying its position as one of the bigest Malay entertainment brands through viral content, celebrity-led segments, and a strong social media presence.
Its continued growth makes it one of the country's largest advertising platforms for brands trying to reach Malay-speaking audiences at scale.
Fly FM also maintained strong momentum in the English-language segment
The station reached 2.1 million weekly listeners, generating 691 million video views online.
The station has increasingly leaned into lifestyle and entertainment-focused content rather than relying purely on conventional radio programming.
Campaigns and events like Sunset Jam have helped Fly FM connect with younger urban audiences through music, live experiences, and digital-first content.
Other stations under the Media Prima Audio network also recorded notable performance increases
Kool FM grew its listenership by 8.3%, reaching 576,000 weekly listeners. The station has focused heavily on relatable and conversational content aimed at everyday Malaysians.
Meanwhile, Molek FM generated 340 million video views while maintaining its strong East Coast audience base.
Chinese-language station Eight WuXian also saw major growth, recording an 83% increase and reaching 197 million video views. The station continues to strengthen its connection with Malaysia's Chinese-speaking community through digital and culturally tailored content.
Media Prima Audio says brands today are looking beyond simple visibility, especially as audiences become more fragmented across platforms
In a statement, the company said advertisers now prioritise cultural relevance, audience engagement, and meaningful connections rather than just impressions or large follower counts.
"At Media Prima Audio, we combine scale, creativity and cultural understanding to help brands do exactly that. We do not just deliver impressions. We create impact. Being seen is no longer enough. Brands need to be remembered," the company said.
