The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported that we will experience hot and dry weather till October
The heat will be present in most areas in Peninsular Malaysia and will remain so until the inter-monsoon season in October. This is also due to the active phase of the South-West monsoon that started in the third week of May.

As reported by MetMalaysia, the average highest temperature present in some states is 34°C
Perak, Pahang, Kelantan as well as Sabah were among the warmest states.
Several states such as Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya as well as Sabah and Sarawak will experience less rain than normal, between 100m and 150mm, compared to the normal levels of rain that are 200mm to 250mm.

If temperatures between 35-37°C stay for three days straight, it would be classified as "alert level" heatwave
According to The Star, cities in Kedah and Sabah experienced the Category 1 "alert level" heatwave, with recorded maximum temperatures between 35°C and 37°C back in July this year.
"Heatwave level" or Category 2 are for temperatures over 37°C for three days straight. If the temperature hits above 40°C three days in a row, it will be considered "emergency level" or Category 3.

Heatwave has been severely impacting several parts of the world
The heatwaves killed 50 in Canada as well as 80 in Japan, as reported by USA Today.
According to Malay Mail, experts say that many parts of the world will be exceptionally hot for the next five years.
