The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) foiled a major smuggling attempt in October, seizing 67.48kg of marijuana flowers valued at over RM6.2 million in Kuala Perlis
According to the New Straits Times, the operation took place around 10pm in the Tambak Persisiran Pantai Bukit Putih area.
Kedah Customs director Wan Marini Wan Hamzah said the raid was based on intelligence and involved officers from the Langkawi marine enforcement branch alongside the elite Customs Operational Battle Force Response Assault (Cobra) team.

Authorities discovered an abandoned wooden boat containing four gunny sacks that were labelled in Thai
"Further checks revealed the sacks contained a large quantity of marijuana flowers. The total weight of the seized drugs was 67.48kg with an estimated value of RM6,209,816," she said in a statement.
Wan Marini added that the drugs were believed to have been smuggled in from a neighbouring country
The case is currently being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for trafficking.
Wan Marini also urged the public to assist the department in combating smuggling activities, noting such crimes threaten national security and public safety.
