Angry Man Punches Bangladeshi Worker Over GST Charge On Nasi Kandar

Well, the following story may just prove otherwise.

Two men caused quite a scene at a nasi kandar restaurant in Air Itam, Penang on 19 May when one of them punched a worker after they were told to pay the goods and services tax (GST) for a packet of rice.

According to the restaurant's owner, the man – who was accompanied by a friend – had gotten upset upon finding out that the price of his food included GST and started yelling profanities at a Bangladeshi worker in Tamil.

He then threw the packet of rice to the the floor and punched the worker in the face before storming off.

The violent episode did not end there. 10 minutes later, the duo came back and smashed a glass panel on the food warmers with a parang before fleeing on a motorcycle.

Georgetown OCPD Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed that a 39-year-old man had been arrested after the incident to assist with investigations in connection to the case
