Man Who Allegedly Attacked His 7-Year-Old Nephew With A Hammer Found Dead

The victim is reported to be in critical condition.

A man suspected of attacking his 7-year-old nephew with a hammer, leaving the boy critically injured, was found dead at Pantai Melawi, Kelantan

The 46-year-old suspect was discovered lifeless on Thursday night, 25 September, near a casuarina tree, about three kilometres from the scene of the incident at a shop lot in Jelawat, reported Harian Metro.

Bachok deputy district police chief ACP Mohd Azrie Sulaiman said the suspect's body was handled by forensic officers after it was found.

He added that further developments related to the case will be announced from time to time.

Earlier, the victim, Muhammad Ammar Muhammad Badrol, was reported to have suffered severe head injuries, believed to have been caused by the hammer attack during the 5.15pm incident

The child is reported to be in critical condition and is currently receiving treatment at Universiti Sains Malaysia Specialist Hospital (HPUSM).

It is understood that the attack took place at the suspect's residence, which is located in a shop lot in the Jelawat area.
