Starting today, 30 September 2025, the government has officially rolled out the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme, which brings a new targeted subsidy mechanism for RON95 petrol

Under the new system, the retail price of RON95 without subsidy is set at RM2.60 per litre, but eligible Malaysians will continue to enjoy it at the subsidised rate of RM1.99 per litre, a discount of RM0.61 per litre.

The subsidy applies to up to 300 litres of RON95 per month, which means each eligible individual can save as much as RM183 monthly on fuel costs.

For now, the retail price of the unsubsidised RON95 will remain fixed at RM2.60 per litre throughout October, with the government saying it will monitor global oil prices to keep prices stable.
