The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry today, 10 March, announced the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme for the 2026 Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations

The scheme will be in effect for 15 days, starting this Saturday, 14 March, until 18 March, covering seven days before Hari Raya, the first day of Syawal, and seven days after, according to Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

This year, the list has been expanded to 27 essential items, up from 26 items last year, to help stabilise the cost of living during the festive period.

Speaking at a press conference, Armizan said the programme will be enforced under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.

While the scheme covers 27 items nationwide, only 24 of them are under price control in Peninsular Malaysia, Armizan shared.

"We have maintained the prices, with only a few increasing due to factors such as external supply, the amount of supply, and weather conditions. This particularly affects items that we import from abroad," he added.
