As of July 2025, the Health Ministry reported that 410,078 Malaysians out of 700,000 target beneficiaries have benefited from the MADANI Medical Scheme
The MADANI Medical Scheme is a government initiative under the Health Ministry, providing free basic treatment for minor illnesses at participating private clinics.
Managed by ProtectHealth Corporation, it focuses on expanding access to primary care for the B40 group through public-private collaboration.
The ministry allocated RM100 million for this scheme in Belanjawan 2025, showing the government's commitment to strengthening healthcare access for lower-income households.

The scheme provides treatment for minor ailments such as:
- Fever, flu, and cough
- Diarrhoea and vomiting
- Sprains and minor wounds
- Headaches and other common illnesses
ㅤ
Excluded treatments include routine immunisations, non-communicable disease (NCD) follow-up, maternal and child health, family planning [add comma] and supplements.
Who is covered and how much coverage is provided?

Recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) — including families, senior citizens without a spouse, and singles — are automatically eligible. No registration is required, but recipients must declare that they are not receiving similar healthcare benefits from other schemes.
Coverage provided:
- Family households: RM250 per year
- Senior citizens without a spouse (60+): RM125 per year
- Singles aged 21–59 (or persons with disabilities aged 19–59): RM75 per year
By offering free treatment at GP clinics, the scheme helps reduce out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for the B40 group while easing congestion at government clinics and hospitals
The target is to reach 700,000 beneficiaries nationwide by the end of the year, with more than half already covered as of mid-2025.
If you or your family members are STR recipients, check your eligibility and visit a participating MADANI Medical Scheme clinic today to receive free treatment for minor illnesses.
