Dino, a member of the popular 1990s Malaysian hip hop group Nico G, has revealed that he suffered a stroke a day after eating seven durians
According to Berita Harian, the singer, whose real name is Mohd Shah Rosli, suffered a stroke three weeks ago that affected the right side of his body.
He attributed the stroke to unhealthy eating habits and excessive smoking.
"I love durians, and every season I make sure to have some. The day before the stroke, I ate seven kampung durians. The next morning, I collapsed. When I spoke to the doctor, my mouth still smelled of durian.
"I have also smoked since I was young, which likely played a part in my condition. But I'm now trying to quit," he said during Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching's visit to his home in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur.
Speaking to mStar, he said the variant he ate was durian kampung, admitting it was his own fault for overindulging, and advised the public not to make the same mistake.

His employer has granted him time off to recover and provided an initial RM500 to assist with expenses.
"But after a month, I had no income. As a result, I asked for help. Now I'm relying on my existing savings," the New Straits Times quoted him as saying.
Teo's visit was part of the Ziarah Seni Madani programme, which was also attended by National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) chairman Datuk Hans Isaac, FINAS chief executive officer Datuk Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib, and Persatuan Seniman Malaysia (SENIMAN) president Zed Zaidi.
As part of the initiative, Dino received a cash donation and a food basket from the Communications Ministry and FINAS.
