A dramatic first-person video that allegedly shows a man trapped in a tree for hours by a Malayan tiger has split Malaysians, with many questioning if it was staged

The video, which has gained over four million views on the uploader's TikTok account, shows a man perched high in a tree deep in the jungle, with an overturned motorcycle on the ground below.

At one point, a striped animal, believed to be a tiger, appears partially hidden among the foliage. As daylight fades, low growls echo through the darkness, punctuated by the man's panicked breathing.

The video's creator has been identified as Fahad Mk, a YouTuber and content creator who focuses on urban legends and supernatural exploration.

His YouTube channel hosts 72 videos with over 3.1 million combined views, making him a familiar figure in Malaysia's sensational content scene. On TikTok, he has more than 51,000 followers, and 86,000 on Facebook.

On his Facebook account, the video has attracted over 370,000 likes with more than 23 million views and close to 8,000 comments.

Given this background, many online users have cast doubt on the video's authenticity

One popular comment reads, "Can't really see the tiger is moving in the video though…", pointing out that the brief, shaky glimpse of the animal could easily be a static prop.

Others argue that, as a seasoned content creator, Fahad has a strong incentive to stage something dramatic to rack up views.

Fahad has since responded to the criticism, telling those mocking him to stop acting like "goats" and insisting the encounter was real.

"I was really up there in the tree," he stressed.

"When I was about to come down, I suddenly noticed the leaves moving — that's when I realised it was hiding in the bushes, watching and waiting for the right moment to attack," he added.

"If you still don't believe me, come and climb the tree yourself. We can discuss it up there."

Fahad claimed he was stuck in the tree for almost four hours, only climbing down after he was confident the animal had left

He said he shouted loudly to assert dominance in the jungle before making his way down.

Fahad added that the viral video only shows a small part of what happened.

"What you saw is just a small part of it. Not every tragedy can be fully told: some experiences are meant to be kept to ourselves," he wrote, explaining that he didn't want to post the video on Facebook because "there are too many goats" (referring to the people mocking him).

SAYS has reached out to Fahad for comment but has yet to receive a response.
