The Malaysian Animal Association is providing free temporary boarding services for up to seven days to pet owners whose homes were impacted by the gas explosion in Putra Heights

From 2 April to 8 April, they will be accepting small animals, including cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, hedgehogs, and pet foxes at their shelter, Galeri Animal Malaysia at Jalan Balam, Kuala Lumpur.

The shelter, licenced by the Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia, will provide food, water, and necessary care for the animals.

"Pick-up and re-delivery services are also provided free of charge, with the collection schedule updated periodically by shelter management," the association said in a Facebook statement.

Pet owners in need of this service can reach out to the shelter via WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, the Society For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Selangor is establishing an Animal Relief Post in Putra Heights to offer immediate on-site support

According to SPCA's statement on Facebook, the relief post will be located behind Dewan Camelia, a temporary evacuation centre, starting from 11am today, 2 April.

SPCA Selangor will provide emergency pet food supplies, basic first aid for pets, and collect pet owner information to facilitate future search and rescue coordination, pending clearance from authorities. They will also offer general assistance and guidance to affected pet owners.

"We will only assist in entering affected homes to help pets after receiving official clearance from the authorities. For now, we will be providing on-site relief and compiling information to prepare for further action," the organisation wrote.

Residents can visit the relief post at Dewan Camelia, or reach out to SPCA via Instagram or WhatsApp.
