Malaysia Airlines Offers 1,498 Subsidised Flights For Malaysians Returning Home This CNY
The subsidised fares are in line with the government's festive travel initiatives.

Malaysia Airlines is offering up to 1,498 subsidised flights for travellers returning to East Malaysian hometowns this Chinese New Year
In a statement yesterday, 13 January, the airline said the subsidised fares align with the government's festive travel initiatives, which cap ticket prices to help Malaysians return home affordably.
The all-inclusive, one-way subsidised fares from Kuala Lumpur to selected East Malaysia destinations are available for travel between 13 February and 16 February. The first day of Chinese New Year falls on 17 February this year.
Tickets will be priced up to RM569 for flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Sandakan, Labuan, Kuching, Miri, Sibu, and Bintulu.

Meanwhile, Firefly, a subsidiary of the airline, will operate 962 flights from 13 February to 23 February
Fares for these flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Kuching, and Sibu will be priced up to RM548.
The Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) said it is committed to festive connectivity, operating more than 2,400 flights during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
For those looking to travel abroad to destinations including London, Bangkok, Seoul, Shanghai, and Trivandrum, the airline's Global New Year campaign offers return tickets starting from RM159.
Bookings are open until 20 January 2026, with travel valid up to 30 November 2026.
