Malaysia Airlines flight MH21 has safely landed in Paris, France, after declaring an emergency shortly after departing Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

According to Berita Harian, the flight departed CDG at 11.55am local time (CET) on 7 January, about 45 minutes behind schedule due to snowy conditions at the airport.

The Airbus A350, registered as 9M-MAB, took off from Runway 27L but halted its climb at an altitude of 4,572m.

While flying over central France, the crew declared an emergency by squawking code 7700.

The New Straits Times reported that the aircraft experienced an engine indication anomaly during the flight.

The airline said its pilots followed standard aviation safety procedures, requesting priority handling and complying with Air Traffic Control instructions to ensure a safe return to CDG for technical inspections.
