MAHB: No Access To KLIA Terminal 2 During Road Closures For Xi Jinping's Visit
"Travellers are urged to plan their journey to and from the airport outside these timeframes to avoid major delays," Malaysia Airports said.
Malaysia Airports has advised travellers heading to or from KLIA Terminal 2 to make alternative arrangements, as access to the terminal will be temporarily cut off for the official visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping
In a travel advisory posted on its official Facebook page, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said full road closures would be enforced on:
Tuesday, 15 April, from 6pm to 7pm, and
Thursday, 17 April, from 8.50am to 9.50am
The affected routes include Lebuhraya ELITE, Lebuh KLIA, Lingkaran Putrajaya, Lebuh Putrajaya-Dengkil, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang, and Jalan P5.
"Travellers are urged to plan their journey to and from the airport outside these timeframes to avoid major delays," read the advisory posted last night, 13 April.
There will be no access to KLIA Terminal 2 for departures, arrivals, or parking during the road closures. Passengers heading to Terminal 2 must instead use the KLIA Transit from Terminal 1, while those arriving at Terminal 2 are required to transit back to Terminal 1 for onward travel.
MAHB strongly recommends using public transportation during this period, particularly:
KLIA Express between KL Sentral and both KLIA terminals, and
KLIA Transit from KL Sentral, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, or Salak Tinggi
If driving is unavoidable, travellers should use the following detour:
Elite Highway (E6) -> Serenia Toll -> Kota Warisan -> Bulatan Masjid -> Jalan KLIA 1 -> Bulatan Charterfield -> KLIA Terminal 1.
The temporary road closures come as part of security measures for the high-level state visit by President Xi, whose arrival is expected to involve convoys moving between Putrajaya and key locations near KLIA.
