The LRT3, also known as the LRT Shah Alam Line, is now slated to begin operations on 31 December, according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke

Informing the Dewan Rakyat of its progress yesterday, 17 November, Loke said the project has entered its final phase of testing and commissioning to ensure its safety and reliability.

"The latest target date for the operation of the LRT3, or the Shah Alam Line, has been revised to 31 December.

"However, this depends on the results of our testing.

"This is because the final testing phase currently underway is one of the most crucial aspects for the rail service," he said, as quoted by the New Straits Times.

Loke added that 956 staff members have been hired in preparation for the line's operations and maintenance by the end of the year.
