The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a Level 1 hot weather alert for Perlis and various locations across five states

In Kedah, the affected districts include Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Pendang, Padang Terap, Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, and Sik.

Areas such as Hulu Perak in Perak, as well as Machang and Pasir Mas in Kelantan have also been affected by the dry spell.

East Malaysia has not been spared from the rising temperatures either. Beaufort in Sabah was flagged, alongside Kapit, Limbang, and Marudi in Sarawak, respectively, as the sun continued to beat down across the region.

A Level 1 alert triggers when maximum daily temperatures reach between 35°C and 37°C

For the warning to remain active, these temperatures must persist for at least three consecutive days.

With the weather getting significantly toastier, it is a good idea to stay indoors where possible and avoid unnecessary sun exposure.
