A homeowner in Puncak Alam, Selangor, took to social media after discovering her rental property in appalling condition, allegedly left by a tenant who vanished without paying six months' rent

The landlord, Nik Zai Md Noor, shared her ordeal in Facebook group Rumah/Bilik Sewa Puncak Alam, warning others about the man.

"Do not rent to this man," she said, uploading photos of the tenant and the shocking state of her home.

"He has completely trashed my house. One of the rooms was filled with cat faeces and rotting food. He hasn't paid rent, electricity, or water bills for half a year, and now he's disappeared, leaving all this mess behind," she alleged.

She urged anyone who encounters him to report him to the police.

Her post drew sympathy from Facebook users, who shared similar experiences and gave advice

Some called the tenant "a renter from hell", while others speculated he may have a hoarding disorder. Many advised her to be firmer in evicting tenants who default on payments.

"Oh God, I had to recite prayers when I saw the state of your house, sis. This is a tenant from hell — he must have never taken out the trash the whole time he was staying. I can't believe he could live in that filth," said a Facebook user.

"Poor owner. May everything be eased for you. Looking at the photos, it seems like the tenant might have a mental illness: hoarding disorder. He likes to pile up garbage in the house. May you stay patient and strong," surmised a netizen.

Another said, "He did not pay rent for six months and the owner still endured. But at last, he ran away. Poor owner, such a big loss. The house is damaged too. Next time, if a tenant doesn't pay rent for two months, just ask them to leave right away."
