According the New Straits Times, Cheras police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud said the theft occurred at about 12.10pm on 31 March, when the suspect allegedly took advantage of a colleague's absence from the front counter.

The suspect was arrested the following day, 1 April, by the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters Criminal Investigation Department
Police also seized a Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch, an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and four pawnshop receipts totalling RM672,000.
"The case was initially investigated under Section 381 of the Penal Code for theft by an employee before the investigation papers were referred to the deputy public prosecutor on 2 April," he said.
He added that the suspect was subsequently charged under Section 408 of the Penal Code for criminal breach of trust.
The accused was charged at the Jalan Duta court on 3 April, where he pleaded guilty
