Major traffic lockdowns are expected across the city centre next week as Malaysia hosts the 47th ASEAN Summit, which will see the arrival of several world leaders, including US President Donald Trump

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said police will be on high alert from 23 to 28 October, with around 16,000 officers deployed from across the country, particularly from states neighbouring to Kuala Lumpur, to assist with traffic and security operations.

"The Kuala Lumpur City Centre will be on total lockdown, and the police will not compromise on safety," Mohamad Hasan told reporters, adding that officers will begin deployment on 23 October.
