A doctor in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, has lodged a police report after viral videos and photos allegedly showing him involved in an extramarital affair surfaced online

The controversy erupted earlier this week when a man took to social media to accuse his wife of having an affair with the doctor.

In a now-deleted Facebook post on 24 August, the man — who said he was married for 10 years — shared videos of himself confronting his wife and her alleged lover.

The two clips show him opening the door of a BMW where his wife was seated, demanding answers about her relationship with the doctor.

"Are you here to see your children or the doctor?" he asks, panning the camera towards the other man in medical scrubs.

"Did you think that you already have the official documents, that we are divorced? What are you playing at?" the man adds, before accusing the doctor of being intimate with his wife at his clinic.

The husband also uploaded a screenshot of divorce papers dated 23 August, in which he applied for custody of their two children.

Although the original post has since been deleted, the videos have been circulated on other platforms.

Soon after, alleged CCTV footage from the doctor's clinic surfaced online

The clips appear to show the doctor in close physical contact with female staff, including one where he is seen caressing a woman's waist and another where he beckons a woman to come into a room.

Photos allegedly showing the doctor having sexual intercourse with a woman inside a clinic room have also surfaced online.

Amid mounting scrutiny, the doctor has come forward to publicly address the allegations in a video uploaded to his Facebook page on Wednesday, 27 August

In the video, Dr Wong Lu Yang apologised to his wife, saying they had already known about the photos and videos for two to three months, during which he confessed to her and sought forgiveness.

"We reached a consensus, and she decided to let me return to the family to jointly manage our marriage and family," he explained.

His wife also appeared briefly in the video, asking the public not to involve their children or extended family in the controversy and to respect their privacy.

In earlier posts, Dr Wong said his family had been receiving severe backlash following the viral scandal

"I wish to inform the public that I, together with my family, have been threatened and subjected to cyberbullying on social media. False and harmful content, including my face, my family members, friends, and organisations I am involved with, as well as my phone number, have been shared without my consent," he wrote.

He added that he has lodged a police report and reserves the right to pursue legal action under Malaysian law against those spreading defamatory or harmful material.

"I sincerely apologise to the public for the attention and concern this issue has caused, as well as the unnecessary use of public resources. This is a personal matter and has no relation to any organisations, associations, friends, or family members," he said.

Dr Wong also admitted that while he and his wife had braced for public backlash, the renewed attention from the viral videos has caused her further emotional distress, for which he can only apologise.

In the wake of the scandal, JCI Kota Bharu — a local youth NGO — announced that it has suspended Dr Wong from his duties as president

"We wish to emphasise that this is a personal matter concerning the current president, and it has no connection with JCI Kota Bharu's mission or work," the group said in a statement on Wednesday, 27 August.

Meanwhile, Kelantan police have confirmed receiving Dr Wong's report

According to the New Straits Times, Kota Bharu district police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud said a report was lodged by the doctor, who owns a private aesthetic clinic in Kota Bharu, on Sunday, 24 August, around 6.27pm.

However, Mohd Rosli said the case has been classified as "Referred to Other Agencies".
