A Johor couple, who divorced in 2016, recently remarried at a local mosque to the delight of their two teenage sons

After nearly a decade apart, Mohd Razip Hamzah and Juliana Mohamad Arif officially reunited.

According to Harian Metro, the couple, who divorced in 2016, officially remarried at the Bandar Labis Mosque in Johor on 27 December 2025.

For their sons, 19-year-old Muhammad Adam Hariz and 17-year-old Muhammad Adam Sufian, the union was a long-held dream

Muhammad Adam affectionately known as Yayan, first requested the reunion while in primary school.

His father, a 50-year-old rubber tapper, admitted he initially struggled with the idea of moving on.

Mohd Razip feared a new partner might make his children feel sidelined.

"I thought a lot about the children," he said.

While the pair remained in contact for their sons, their interactions were strictly functional for years

Eventually, Juliana, 46, initiated a conversation about reconciliation before her Umrah pilgrimage in April 2024.

Mohd Razip agreed to the reconciliation but asked her to focus on her prayers first. He, too, had prayed for their relationship during his own pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Returning to married life has felt slightly surreal. Juliana admitted they initially felt like strangers, with their eldest son stepping in as a mediator.

"Now, we are more mature," Juliana said. They are learning from past mistakes, hoping this second chapter brings the peace their children have longed for.
