Japanese authorities have dismantled an illicit operation after uncovering more than 860 sex videos filmed without consent, involving about 100 women
The investigation led to the arrest of 39-year-old Yohei Ono on 16 December, along with his 28-year-old wife, Haruka, and their 23-year-old adopted daughter, Rin, reported Jiji Press.
Police are investigating the extent of the two women's involvement and whether they were coerced into assisting with the crimes.

According to Mainichi Shinbun, police traced the video to an encounter in July 2024, in which Ono allegedly paid a woman he had met a month prior for sex at a Tokyo hotel.
He reportedly recorded the act without her consent and published it, prompting a raid on his home.
The subsequent search revealed the massive library of illicit footage, which police believe features dozens of different victims.
The case has revealed a highly unusual and predatory household dynamic
Ono, who described himself as a polyamorist, reportedly considered his adopted daughter a "common-law wife" and used bizarre nicknames for his family members, calling his wife "penguin" and his daughter "rabbit".
Evidence suggests both women actively assisted in setting up hidden cameras for Ono's encounters.
Shockingly, this was not Ono's first arrest; in November, he was detained for allegedly holding a woman captive for nearly two months
During that time, he reportedly forced her to wear a dog collar, according to the Japan Times. He subjected her to sexual assault, using threats of exposing her personal life to her family to maintain control. The victim managed to escape and report him in late November.

Authorities estimate that he may have amassed over 50 million yen (RM1.3 million) over the past two years by selling and uploading the non-consensual footage.
While Ono has confessed to the charges, his wife and adopted daughter have remained silent. Investigations continue as police work to identify further victims and the full scope of the offences.
