A Japanese national was found dead inside his car at a condominium parking lot in Kuala Lumpur on 22 July, after his wife was unable to reach him for several days
The deceased, 43, had been living and working in Malaysia for over six years as a web developer. He lived in KL with his wife and their only child, reported China Press.
His wife and child had returned to Japan on 13 July to visit family, and were scheduled to return to Malaysia on 23 July. However, she began to worry when she couldn't contact her husband starting from 19 July and eventually sought help to check on him.
Cheras district police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan said the woman had reached out to the building's security guard, prompting a welfare check on their unit at around 8pm on 22 July. A group of individuals entered the apartment but found no one inside, reported Buletin TV3.
They then searched the parking area and found the man unconscious in his car, which was parked on the third level of the condominium's parking facility.
The fire department from the Pudu station was called to the scene and had to break the car window to get to him. Paramedics confirmed that he had already passed away.
Police received the report about the discovery at 9.32pm on the same night.

A preliminary investigation revealed no external injuries or signs of foul play
A post-mortem conducted at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) UKM confirmed there were no criminal elements involved.
According to his employer, the man had been unwell and suffering from a fever in the days leading up to his disappearance. He had also not turned up for work for about five days.
His body was already beginning to decompose by the time it was found, suggesting he may have been dead for some time before discovery.
Police have classified the case as sudden death.
