A violent two-vehicle collision on Jalan Tun Razak early this morning, 12 March, triggered a massive traffic gridlock across Kuala Lumpur's city centre after one of the cars involved burst into flames
The incident, which occurred during the quiet pre-dawn hours of 12 March, left morning commuters facing significant delays on one of the capital's most critical arterial routes.
According to the New Straits Times, the crash took place at about 5am near the intersection of Jalan Langgak Golf.
The impact was so severe that one vehicle was quickly engulfed in a fierce blaze, sending thick black smoke billowing across the dark road.
Emergency responders, including the Fire and Rescue Department and traffic police, were immediately dispatched to the scene to contain the fire and secure the area.

While the fire was eventually extinguished, the aftermath of the accident brought traffic on the Middle Ring Road 1 (MRR1) to a near-complete standstill
By the time the morning peak hour arrived, tailbacks had stretched for several kilometres as authorities cordoned off the affected lanes for forensic investigation and debris clearance.
Traffic police implemented several diversions to alleviate the mounting pressure on the city's road network. Motorists travelling from the direction of Jalan Yap Kwan Seng were rerouted towards Jalan U-Thant.
Despite these measures, the spillover effect has caused secondary congestion on connecting roads such as Jalan Ampang and Jalan Sultan Ismail, as drivers attempt to find alternative paths through the central business district.
As of 9.30am, authorities are still working to remove the charred remains of the vehicle and clear oil spills from the tarmac.
