The video, posted by Seemon Florano, shows the door snapping shut instead of closing slowly.
Florano, in an interview by GMA News, said he was slightly hurt when the door closed and hit him on his shoulderblade
"Medyo tinamaan lang ako sa likod sa bandang balikat. Mare-realize mo kapag naipit ka pala, nakakatakot kasi sobrang lakas nung impact. Although walang nasasaktan, kasi wina-warning-an namin lahat ng pasahero dun," he said worryingly.
The report said the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has already been informed of the situation and has called on the LRT-1 management to address the problem.
"They (LRT-1) management pledged to conduct a swift and thorough investigation…" the DOTr said.
The DOTr, asked passengers to "alert station personnel should similar events happen."
"Rest assured that this administration will do its best not to compromise the safety of our commuters," it added.
Rochelle Gamboa, LRT spokesperson, said the problem has already been "rectified"
"The door's fault, which was the subject of a viral video yesterday, has been rectified, Sept. 20, same day of incident," she said in a separate report.
LRT-1 runs from Monumento in Caloocan City to Baclaran in Parañaque City. Hope this one's really solved, for the safety of all the passengers.
