A mobile pizza business operating out of a luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) was recently fined by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) for selling wagyu pizzas without a licence in Ampang

In a statement issued via Facebook, MPAJ said the enforcement action was part of a monitoring operation carried out between 25 and 27 April 2025.

The council stated that it had identified several unlicensed street vendors whose operations were causing public disturbances.

"As a result, a compound was issued under the MPAJ 2007 By-laws to ensure the safety and comfort of residents," the council said, without disclosing the amount of the fine or further details about the vendor.

MPAJ stressed that while it supports initiatives that drive local entrepreneurship and economic activity, businesses must still comply with existing regulations

"We hope all parties can adhere to existing laws and guidelines for the sake of maintaining public harmony," it said, adding that a meeting has been arranged with the parties involved to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

The vendor and brand involved have not been officially identified.

SAYS has reached out to the party believed to be linked to the case and will update this story if a response is received.
