An extramarital affair in Indonesia turned violent after the man's mistress, Windi Sintia, 28, confessed to cutting off his genitals in a fit of jealousy

Windi said she felt "satisfied" by the assault, claiming it was intended to teach her lover, Karsilan Utami, 32, a lesson about cheating.

According to Liputan6, the couple began dating in early 2019. Despite Karsilan marrying another woman in late 2019, he maintained the affair with Windi, who was aware of his marriage. Karsilan promised to financially support Windi, giving her 200,000 rupiah (RM50) weekly.

Windi's payments began to dwindle, while Karsilan purchased a new motorcycle for his legal wife, who later posted about it on social media. Fuelled by jealousy, Windi allegedly plotted her vengeance for a week.

On 19 October, Windi reportedly lured Karsilan to a secluded field in Bandar Lampung, Sumatra

According to Tribunnews, Windi snatched a penknife from her bag and cut off his erect penis during intercourse. Karsilan fled naked into the city streets, bleeding and screaming.

Shocked locals quickly assisted him, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where surgeons managed to reattach his severed penis. Windi, meanwhile, threw the penknife away and went home, where police arrested her on 21 October.

At a press conference on 22 October, Windi confessed to the crime

"I felt a little regret for what I did, but mostly satisfaction. I am finally satisfied," she said, claiming her motivation was driven by Karsilan's infidelity.

Windi accused him of cheating on both her and his wife with other women, which caused her "heartbreak and anger".

She committed the attack to teach him a lesson, saying, "Our relationship was like husband and wife. But he kept lying and cheating. I was angry and disappointed."

Windi was charged with premeditated assault resulting in serious physical injury, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years in jail under Indonesian law

Windi's mother pleaded for leniency, claiming her daughter was friendly and well-behaved, though she had previously expressed her disappointment with Karsilan.

The defence has requested a postponement of Windi's imprisonment, noting that she has an 8-year-old child to care for.
