Indira Gandhi is offering RM50,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the whereabouts of her daughter, Prasana, who disappeared with Indira's ex-husband 17 years ago

According to the New Straits Times, the reward is being offered by the Indira Gandhi Action Team (INGAT) as part of ongoing efforts to urge police to take more effective action to reunite the mother and daughter.

The reward will only be given if the information also leads to the arrest of Indira's ex-husband, Riduan Abdullah, also known as Patmanathan Krishnan.

He disappeared with Prasana 17 years ago, when she was just 11 months old.

INGAT chairman Arun Doraisamy said Prasana, Riduan, and his new wife are believed to be residing in one of the following locations: Pasir Puteh, Kelantan; Sintok, Kedah; Penang; or Perlis.

INGAT's investigations also suggest that Riduan allegedly travelled to southern Thailand several times using rat routes along the border.

Arun added that Riduan may have been assisted by sympathisers connected to religious or community networks in those states.

"This case has gone on for far too long. A mother has been separated from her child for years. We urge anyone with reliable information to step forward. Confidentiality will be protected," said Arun

He said Riduan's current wife, 33, and another individual, 48, from Chuping in Perlis, could be key in assisting the investigation.

Earlier this week, INGAT released new evidence allegedly connected to Riduan's whereabouts and accused the police of nonfeasance, citing a failure to carry out the Federal Court's 2018 order to locate Riduan and Prasana.

Riduan is also believed to be in Malaysia, contrary to police claims that he is in Thailand.

This conclusion was based on findings that Riduan's name appeared in connection with the government's Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) RM100 and BUDI95 aid programmes, which are only available to Malaysians residing in the country.

At a forum in August, former Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat commented on Indira's long-running case, expressing empathy for the mother's years of suffering

NST reported Tengku Maimun as saying that she personally felt that the police should not have faced any difficulties in locating Prasana.

"I really do not know the reason why, until now, the child has not been located and returned to the mother.

"But this is really beyond the judiciary. It is entirely up to the police to execute the warrant of arrest that has been issued by the civil court against the father, as well as the recovery order and the custody order.

"Unfortunately, I'm not able to answer as to whether this was deliberate or intentional," she said.

Indiara has two other children, Tevi Darsiny and Karan Dinish, who are now 27 and 26, respectively.

All three children were unilaterally converted to Islam by her ex-husband in 2009 without her knowledge. Indira later won custody in 2010, and their conversions were nullified by the court in 2013.
