The Malaysian Immigration Department has shut down two illegal plastic surgery clinics found operating out of condominium units in Cheras and Bukit Jalil

The raids, conducted last week under Ops Dandan by the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department, resulted in the arrest of seven Vietnamese women and two local women.

According to Harian Metro, Kuala Lumpur Immigration Director Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff said the raids were carried out simultaneously, involving 44 officers and personnel.

A video shared by the department shows enforcement officers entering a condominium unit in Cheras while a surgery was reportedly ongoing, revealing a makeshift operating room set up inside a bedroom of the residential unit.

Wan Mohammed Saupee explained that the raids followed two months of surveillance and intelligence-gathering by the department's Special Tactical Unit

According to him, the clinics were operating out of residential premises and relied on foreign doctors to offer plastic surgery services without authorisation.

During the raid, authorities also seized RM9,070 in cash, along with surgical equipment, unapproved medication, and implant devices.

The case is being investigated under Sections 55E, 56(1)(d), 39(b), 6(1)(c), and 15(1)(c), as well as Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Act.
