Malaysian performers, this is your chance to step into the spotlight. Hong Kong Disneyland is holding open auditions in Kuala Lumpur this June, inviting local talent to be part of its cast.
In a statement, the theme park shared that it is looking for dancers and character performers, and it is turning its attention to Malaysia.
It said it has discovered talent across Asia, including Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, South Korea, and Thailand — and now, Malaysia is next.
"This special casting tour celebrates the country's vibrant artistic community and the strong potential of its dancers and performers.
"Successful candidates will have the opportunity to bring Disney stories, characters, and moments of wonder to life for guests from around the world," it said.
As a short brief, Hong Kong Disneyland said character performers are needed for an exciting, new Pixar-themed experience, involving parades, events, and meet-and-greet sessions with guests
"As a Character Performer, you can bring life to our Disney Characters and become a star while creating Disney magic for everyone," the park shared.
Meanwhile, dancers will get to showcase their skills in stage shows, parades, and seasonal events — with opportunities to perform as a soloist, part of a dance ensemble, or both.
The two-day audition will take place at Asia Ballet Academy, Menara KLGCC on 20 and 21 June
A workshop will also be held ahead of the auditions, led by Hong Kong Disneyland casting directors, offering candidates insights into Disney's performance standards.
While not compulsory, attending the workshop may help candidates better prepare for the auditions. Do note that auditions for dancers and character performers will be conducted separately.
