Travel + Leisure Magazine has named Palawan as the #1 World's Best Island — and it's not the first time!
A known international travel magazine, Travel + Leisure, dubbed Palawan as the World's Best Island. This is the second time that Palawan gained this recognition from the same publication. In 2013, it was also named World's Best Island.
Palawan is considered to be the last ecological frontier, home to various sea creatures
Many come to Palawan to dive and see the ecological wonder of Tubbataha Reef. It is considered as one of the best dive sites in the world according to CNN Travel. Trips to Tubbataha National Marine Park from Puerto Princesa operates during the diving season from mid-March to mid-June — the period when the waves are the calmest.
It's also home to many attractions like the Kayangan Lake and Barracuda Lake
Kayangan lake is dubbed as the cleanest lake in Asia.
The famous "New 7 Wonder Of Nature" can also be found in Palawan: Underground River
In 2010, a group of environmentalists and geologists discovered that the underground river has a second floor, which means that there are small waterfalls inside the cave.
6th on the list is the thrilling activities and beauty of Cebu
"There is never a dull moment in Cebu," said one T+L reader, who claimed the Philippine island, which ranked sixth on the list, is "perfect for travelers who don't want to spend a lot of money on recreational activities." Hiking through canyons, swimming with whale sharks, and diving from the top of a waterfall are just a few of the activities visitors can try.

Coming in 2nd is the beautiful energy of Boracay Island in Aklan
Only a puddle-jump away is the island of Boracay, which one reader deemed "a natural treasure". The crowning jewel of this tropical destination is Shangri-La's Boracay Resort (No. 8 among this year's Top Resort Hotels in Southeast Asia), which is nestled in a cove and offers guests supreme luxury amid verdant hills and powdery beaches.
