According to [New Straits Times (NST)](https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2017/08/268913/revealed-full-list-402-malaysian-schools-disciplinary-drug-issues), the list was presented by the Malaysian Education Ministry during a Committee on Students Disciplinary Problems meeting in June.
The news report stated that the list was given to them by anonymous sources, but it was verified by officials close to the committee that worked on preparing the list.
**The schools in the list were divided into two categories, namely:**
• Category 1 (discipline)
• Category 3 (discipline with drug issues)
**Selangor is the state with the highest number of schools in the list, while Sabah is the only state that was not mentioned in the list.**
Here are the lists of schools divided according to states and federal territories:
1. Perlis – Six schools under category 1 and four schools under category 3
