If you're travelling back to your hometown this Hari Raya Aidilfitri, here are five resources you can use to avoid getting stuck in traffic jams
1. PLUS App

PLUS operates seven major expressways across Malaysia, namely:
- North-South Expressway (NSE)
- New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE)
- Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH)
- North-South Expressway Central Link (NSECL)
- Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (LINKEDUA)
- Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE)
- Penang Bridge
If you're travelling on any of these routes, downloading the PLUS app can help you better plan your journey, with a feature that allows you to select your travel date and time to view predicted traffic conditions.
The app allows you to view live CCTV footage of expressways, so you can check traffic conditions in real time and avoid congested areas.
You can also calculate your total toll fares, get information on upcoming R&R stops, locate EV charging stations, and access many more functions.
You can download the app on the Google Play Store here and the Apple App Store here.
2. Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) website

The Malaysian Highway Authority's website offers similar features to the PLUS app, but with a wider coverage of over 30 highways across Malaysia.
To check traffic conditions, simply select 'Paparan CCTV Lebuh Raya' on the website and choose an expressway. You'll be able to view regularly updated images showing the current traffic situation.
The website also provides a toll fare culculator, expressway maps, and hotline numbers for each expressway.
You can visit the website here.
3. jalanow.com

If you're looking for a simple, no-frills platform that goes beyond expressways, jalanow.com is a great resource.
The site allows you to view regularly updated traffic photos not just on expressways, but also on major roads in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, as well as highways nationwide.
It also provides current petrol prices and expressway hotline numbers.
You can visit the website here.
4. Social media

If you prefer not to download any apps or visit websites, social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and X are great alternatives.
Both LLM and PLUS share traffic updates, advisories, and even CCTV footage of expressways on their official channels.
You can check out LLM's Facebook page here and WhatsApp channel here for updates, while PLUS regularly posts real-time traffic information on its X account here.
