We all know the specific kind of chaos that lives in old school group chats. Usually, they are graveyards of "happy birthdays" and failed meet-up plans.
However, for one Malaysian groom, that digital connection turned into a heartwarming moment that has since gone viral on TikTok.
A video posted by user @afiqkandi_ captures the raw emotion of a groom breaking down in tears.
The reason? His secondary school friends had secretly travelled all the way from Sabah to the peninsula just to stand by his side on his big day.
The clip has already racked up over 280,000 views, proving that wholesome content is still king.
According to Afiq, the reunion was not months in the making. In fact, the groom had casually dropped his wedding invitation into their group chat with barely a week and a half to spare.
While most adults would cite work commitments or the short notice as reasons to decline, this group did the opposite.
They discussed the idea for exactly one day before deciding to go. Within 24 hours, the group had booked their flight tickets, secured a homestay, and applied for leave.
It was a logistical sprint to ensure they could be there to surprise their friend after 10 years apart.
Afiq noted that, sometimes, overthinking a plan is the death of it
"It's normal that when you plan too far ahead, things don't happen," he wrote in the caption. "You have to do it on the spot and last-minute. God willing, the plan will work."
He admitted that maintaining these bonds gets harder as everyone grows up. "After 10 years, it's been so difficult to spend time together like this," Afiq said.
"We understand that everyone now has their own life — families, children, responsibilities — so it's not easy to meet and gather with school friends anymore," he added.
