It was earlier announced by Ricky Lo that Mocha Uson will have a column on The Philippine STAR

They note that her column will be on the Opinion Editorial Section or (Op-Ed) and not in the Entertainment Section.

"Starting on Tuesday, Nov. 8, The Philippine STAR will welcome Mocha as a columnist, not in the Entertainment Section but in the Op-Ed Section. Her column will be called Hotspot and that sums up what "hot" items you can expect from Mocha every Tuesday," according to Ricky Lo's piece "Mocha: Flavor for all Season" on Philippine Star

Mocha, who has more than 4 million followers on Facebook alone has received landslide-support from them who are fellow Duterte supporters

But many cry "misinformation" and "lies" which caused her so much controversy. She maintains her argument that she is NOT a journalist and is just a regular citizen who loves her country.

The reports on her blog are hits or misses. Eventhough she claims that she does fact-check her reports, they still come out inaccurate. An example would be the comparison of the Typhoon Lawin and Typhoon Yolanda's release of funds wherein she claimed that before Duterte's administration, DSWD released insufficient funds. But during the Duterte administration, they were even carefully boxed and deployed to the damaged places.

It was later proven that the report was false and that the photos she released of boxed relief goods were from the Aquino administration and not the Duterte. She deleted the post.

This and other inaccurate reports from her have left people to sign an online petition to suspend her Facebook account.

This reputation of hers have left netizens in shock with Philippine Star's decision to welcome her aboard their highly credible news avenue

The Philippine Star was founded on July 28, 1986, right after the People Power Revolution.

The Philippine Star is among the Philippines' most widely circulated newspapers, with an average circulation of 266,000 copies daily, according to the Philippine Yearbook 2013.

The announcement was received negatively by netizens who expressed their shock on social media.

But the most shocked is Regina Belmonte, grand daughter of Philippine STAR's founder Betty Go-Belmonte

She also called Mocha Uson a "presstitute" and a "hippocrite". Mocha was known to tag local media as being "biased to the Aquino administration".

In the end, she tells her followers that there is nothing more that she can do but express her "displeasure"

Regina is a writer and editor herself. She was the former beauty editor of Cosmopolitan PH and a columnist for Young Star at the Philippine Star.

She is the grand daughter of veteran journalist Betty-Go Belmonte who established the STAR Group of Publications which publishes the national newspaper, The Philippine STAR.
