When was the last time you (or your mom) cooked [Sinigang] (http://says.com/ph/foodtrip/12-places-that-serve-awesome-sinigang) in your kitchen, or bought a locally made product in your hometown, or the last time you [volunteered to help] (http://says.com/ph/kulture/2016-is-the-year-to-volunteer-achieve) a remote community?

Whether you have done these or not, these are just some of the countless ways you can show your love for your motherland towards the preservation of the culture, tradition, and values of our country.

[Google Philippines] (https://plus.google.com/+GooglePhilippines), in celebration of the National Heroes' Day, has just launched a campaign called, #LovePhilippines, to remind us the importance of loving and supporting our country…

… especially today that most of us prefer following the western culture and buying foreign products than preserving our culture and buying our own. Ever heard of the term, ***Xenocentrism***?

The campaign kicked-off showing an animation of the Philippine National Hero, Jose Rizal, eating his favorite Filipino dessert, minatamis na santol (sweetened santol)

The goal is not only to learn a new trivia about the national hero, but to also teach Filipinos how to make the dessert with a supporting YouTube video.

"**We hear things said about the Philippines or the Filipinos, but there are plenty of beautiful facts about us that are easily searchable online**," said Gail Tan, Google Philippines Head of Communications and Public Affairs, according to Manila Bulletin.

"**We want to bring out these information so that people will be inspired to show the world that the Philippines is a fast developing country with a** [rich history and colorful culture] (http://says.com/ph/kulture/here-s-why-we-think-this-canadian-is-more-filipino-than-the-most-of-us)," added Tan.

This is not the first time Google kicked-off a project to promote the Philippines, though! Here's one of Google's projects showing how it's easy to travel around the Philippines by using Google Maps:

"**Please spread the #Love for our mother land with pride and honor so others will know more about us too**," said Google PH on their Facebook post.
