Choi Hon Ming was at the wrong place at the wrong time when a man went on a shooting rampage along Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway in Penang on Thursday, 1 December
**On 1 December, three people were killed when the bodyguard of a Datuk went berserk and fired 17 shots following an argument with his employer.**
**Datuk Ong Teik Kwong, 32, was driving his BMW when he was shot in the head from behind.** The bodyguard is said to have chased after another passenger in the car while firing his gun. **The stray bullets hit innocent passers-by, killing two – entertainer Choi Hon Ming, 32, and flower supplier M. Senthil, 38 – and injuring five others.**

Family members and friends remember the 32-year-old, who was a professional entertainer, as a hardworking, helpful, and kind-hearted man

**Choi's mother, Khoo Saw Hean revealed that he loved carrying out charitable activities** especially during festive seasons where he dressed up and entertained crowds, including for children at orphanages, for free. In the span of his career, Choi had performed as the God of Prosperity for Chinese New Year events, Santa Claus for Christmas, and as a clown for children at functions.
Moreover, **Choi was supposed to tie the knot in December next year**, having registered his marriage to Sun Siew Chin in July. Sun is a staff nurse currently working in Saudi Arabia.
In honour of a beloved friend, Choi's colleagues – some of whom travelled all the way from Kuala Lumpur – came together in costume to pay their last respects on the eve as well as at his funeral this morning, 5 December

Tears flowed as a trio of clowns led Choi's hearse to the United Hokkien Cemeteries at Batu Gantong, Penang, juggling balls and performing tricks throughout the procession.
**Choi's family and the clowns also released 32 balloons into the sky, marking his age and in remembrance of all the good deeds he has done in his life.**
