Free KTM Komuter Rides From 31 January To 1 February For Thaipusam

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the initiative is expected to benefit 450,000 users travelling to and from Batu Caves.

Commuters in the Klang Valley can enjoy free KTM Komuter rides from 31 January to 1 February in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration

According to the New Straits Times, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the free rides will begin at midnight on 31 January and continue until 11.59pm on 1 February.

He said the initiative, which will cost nearly RM1 million, is expected to benefit 450,000 users travelling to and from Batu Caves.

However, even though rides are free, commuters are still required to tap in using their credit, debit, or Touch 'n Go cards.

Loke added that Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will provide round-the-clock KTM services for four days, from 30 January to 2 February, to accommodate the surge in passengers

These 28 stations will operate 24 hours during this period:
– Batu Caves
– Taman Wahyu
– Kampung Batu
– Batu Kentonmen
– Sentul
– Putra
– Bank Negara
– Kuala Lumpur
– KL Sentral
– Bandar Tasik Selatan
– Kajang
– Nilai
– Seremban
– Senawang
– Sungai Gadut
– Rembau
– Tampin/Pulau Sebang
– Petaling
– Kampung Dato Harun
– Seri Setia
– Subang
– Batu Tiga
– Shah Alam
– Padang Jawa
– Bukit Badak
– Klang
– Jalan Kastam
– Pelabuhan Klang

To support last-mile connectivity, KTMB will also deploy 30 additional shuttle buses operating 24 hours a day at 10-minute intervals.

Loke said the enhanced services to Batu Caves station are expected to cater to about 2.5 million visitors during the Thaipusam celebration.
