Government Announces Free 5GB Data For All Malaysians On The First Day Of Hari Raya
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is expected to fall on Monday, 31 March.
The government has announced a special RAHMAH rebate incentive for the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri — a free data boost for all Malaysians
In a statement yesterday, 26 March, the Communications Ministry announced its partnership with major telecommunications service providers to provide a minimum of 5GB of free data to users on prepaid or postpaid mobile plans.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is expected to fall on Monday, 31 March. This additional data quota will be valid for at least 24 hours and will be credited automatically into users' accounts.
"We hope that this incentive will help strengthen ties, especially through online communication, as well as enliven this year's Aidilfitri celebrations," Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil was quoted as saying in Berita RTM.
Participating telcos include CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM Tech, YTL Communications, Pavo Comms, Tune Talk, redONE, REDtone, and XOX Comms
While the minimum data provided is 5GB, the exact terms and conditions, including the total validity period, will be determined by each telco. So, users are encouraged to check with their respective providers.
The telcos are expected to announce the details of the RAHMAH Aidilfitri rebate incentive on their respective websites soon.
