Foul Smell Leads To Discovery Of Decomposed Female Teacher's Body In Iskandar Puteri

A foul odor detected by neighbours led to the grim discovery of the decomposed body of a female teacher at her home in Skudai, Johor

Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP M Kumarasan said the woman's neighbours in Bandar Selesa Jaya reported the smell to police at around 8.06pm last Thursday, 12 June.

"The teacher is believed to have died approximately a month ago. Investigations show she had not been to work since 24 September last year," Berita Harian quoted him as saying today, 16 June.

A post-mortem was unable to determine the exact cause of death due to the advanced state of decomposition

However, Kumarasan said no foul play was suspected.

"The case is classified as sudden death with no criminal elements involved," he added.

The unmarried teacher worked at a school in Taman Tunku Aminah and lived alone.

Police are now trying to trace her closest next of kin.
