About six acres of forest near UiTM Puncak Perdana in Shah Alam, Selangor, caught fire on Wednesday, 29 October

Videos and photos of the forest fire at its peak have gone viral on social media.

According to Majoriti, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said they received a distress call at 4.15pm and deployed a team from Bukit Jelutong station to the scene.

The Sun reported that about 18 officers and personnel, assisted by teams from the Kapar and Sungai Buloh fire stations, managed to put out about 80% of the blaze by 6.05pm.

As of 6.30pm, efforts to fully extinguish the flames were still underway.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the fire did not spread to the university campus.
