Farm Fresh Malaysia’s Farm Director Dies In Helicopter Crash In The Philippines

35-year-old Jacob Mathan, Farm director at Farm Fresh Berhad, has died after the helicopter he was travelling in crashed in the Philippines

The incident happened on the morning of 3 March at 7.20am near Pililla in Rizal Province.

The company said the helicopter encountered engine trouble during what was expected to be a routine visit to a potential farm site.

Shawn Pu, the CEO of Farm Fresh Philippines, was also onboard and sustained injuries but is now in stable condition, the company confirmed.

Jacob, who joined Farm Fresh 13 years ago as a university intern, rose to become Farm Director

In a letter to staff, Farm Fresh group managing director Loi Tuan Ee described him as "affable, respectful, and well-mannered", noting his significant contributions to the company's dairy farm division.

Over his tenure, Jacob was credited with strengthening relationships with contractors, suppliers, and government agencies, including the Department of Veterinary Services and the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC).

"Jacob was truly a beloved and invaluable member of our Farm Fresh family," the company said.

"Our hearts are broken, and we grieve along with his family."

Jacob is survived by his wife, Amy, and their family.
